OK, so if you look at EVERY major successful athlete, they have a coach. Most every successful executive has a coach/mentor that they would credit their success to. While I have never liked the term “Life Coach”, most of the reason for that has been the barrier to entry. There are few legal credentials that define a life coach. Yet much of what I do spills over into life coaching.
When I meet with transitioning professionals, I generally spend an hour plus just going over the whole “how did they get to wherever they are now.” Its important to understand where someone is at before we move forward. Coaching is all about moving forward. Counseling is about how did you get to where you are now. So expect some counseling/life coaching with your career coaching.
